ABOUT Kay
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, rainy days were a treasured time to stay in and watch movies. The Seattle area has A LOT of rainy days so my film education accelerated rapidly from a young age!
My love of film came from both of my parents. My father showed me Star Wars and my mother showed me pretty much every romantic comedy from the early 2000's after their divorce. I knew I loved movies, but I never imagined I would be a screenwriter as a kid. In fourth-grade, my teacher read a short story of mine and told me I should be a writer. I read that story a couple years ago, it's terrible, but that was the first time someone encouraged me to write.
Despite growing up devoutly Mormon, I went through a faith transition in 2019 which left me without a belief in the afterlife. When my father passed away in 2020, I decided to bail on my practical degree in business and pursue my passion because if this is the only life we have, why waste it doing something you hate?
